About Me

The most important thing to know about me is that I am blessed to have two wonderful, smart, talented daughters, an amazing wife, and a dedicated and engaging extended family. I live just outside of Greenville, South Carolina, without a doubt the greatest town to raise a family.

I grew up in Warrenton, Virginia, and completed my undergraduate degree at Longwood University. Since graduation I have had the opportunity to work for so many amazing companies, from car dealerships to tech startups to my own main street web development firm. An amazing part of this journey has included technology in one form or another, which is always changing! Not only is there something new every day, but the pace of change has accelerated. What worked yesterday, doesn’t work today. An established market today may disappear completely – quickly.

With all this madness comes the opportunity to compete – to get out there and out-think, out work, and out perform the competition. To recognize opportunity, the value of a client, the value of solid team, and the value you are bringing to the market is paramount. Listening to, and truly hearing, your prospects, your clients and your co-workers is key to winning and retaining business.

As of this writing (January, 2019), a few bullets around my business background.

  • Over 25 years of experience helping companies develop clear and actionable growth strategies, and executing on those strategies through sales, marketing, client development, and channel development.   I have most enjoyed playing a key role in planning and executing on a growth strategy, with a solid and exciting team, and seeing the fruits of these efforts.  I am passionate about the entire client lifecycle: working a sales plan through Salesforce; growing individual account revenues (lift);  identifying and cultivating channel relationships; and working with a matrix team (developers, management, sales) to uncover new revenue opportunities and fine-tune current ones.
  • Over 25 years experience selling, servicing and developing products that are steeped in technology:  web applications, mobile apps, online video portals and networks, digital advertising, e-commerce and much more.  You will find me quick to understand complex technologies, able to think outside of the box from an application perspective, and eager to solve problems leveraging technology.
  • An MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a focus on the Management of Technology.  Through this experience I was able to gain a more mature understanding of business fundamentals: growth strategies, financial strategies, market analysis, operational tactics, corporate lifecycle and much more.

I’ll also throw out there that I’ve completed the Marine Corp Marathon in Washington, DC four times, love to snow ski, enjoy golf when I can, and can’t help buying new electronics. I love to travel, and have had the opportunity to visit most of the US, many European countries, China and Japan.
